During a neuroanatomy lecture in medical school, 1 of our professors related his experience of blanking away during an exam on View this site (https://groups.google.com/g/supplementreview/c/4lGr-Od_8iI) very matter. He related how he sat there, becoming a lot more stressed, with the clock ticking as he racked his brains for answers. Stumped, he eventually relaxed a little, sat back, folded his arms behind the head of his and just said to himself: "So, tell me about yourself!"
Merely about half the class received the joke, but that's another story. But seriously, if our brains could talk to us, which food do you feel the brain of yours would love to discuss? Effectively, I imagine it would give us several advice... namely, on how to take much better care of it. Here are a few fundamentals I do think all brains collectively would value us paying attention to...
o The brain is much more susceptible compared to every other body part to oxidative stress (inflammation).
o When under chronic stress, your brain is both subject to the effects of inflammation and is less in a position to contend with them.
o Ditto for chronic mental illness, such as autism or Alzheimer's.
o Certain problems (for instance autism and ADHD) are linked with impaired defense mechanisms against that low stress. For instance, certain essential chemical reactions that happen at the cellular level may perhaps happen at slower prices or perhaps not at all. This compounds oxidative damage.
o The brain has lots of different mechanisms to combat the strain and inflammation, and requires a wide variety of vitamins, cofactors, amino acids, and food/plant based antioxidants to do it.
o Some of the antioxidants' task is replenishing alternative antioxidants by taking on their free radicals. For instance grape seed extract might be as much as 15x more powerful when combined with Vitamin C. This is why a variety is both necessary and synergistic.
